Six women and four men earned All-CAC Honors for the Captains at the 2014 Cross Country Championships. Both squads repeated their 2013 finishes - a Title defense for the women and another Runner-Up score for the men, this time behind Salisbury University. Also a repeat of last year, the Captains earned both Rookie of the Year honors as Hannah Bullen (Henrico, VA) and Grayson Reid (Glen Allen, VA) were the first freshman finishers in their respective races. Head Coach Matthew Barreau claimed another Women's Coach of the Year award based on the team's performance.

Mary Washington's course at Four Winds Golf Club in Rappahannock Academy, just outside Fredericksburg, was flat and fast and the fields took advantage - none better than the CNU harriers. Every Captain in the two races posted their fastest every times for 8k (men) or 6k (women). Seven men claimed new spots in the Sub-26 Club and three more were within 5 seconds of the threshold. Nine women finished under the 24 minutes with a tenth missing by less than 3 seconds. At the front, six women broke 23 minutes and five bested Emily Low's 22:22 (adjusted for Salisbury's short course) that stood as the CNU 6k standard for 10 years.

Both the men and the women head to Rome, Georgia next weekend for the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships ranked third. Top two teams earn automatic berths to Nationals.
