Women's Team Named All-Academic By USTFCCCA

CNU Track & Field had another banner year in 2011-12, capped off by three races at the USATF Junior National Championships in Bloomington, IN. Samuel Martin (Rockville, MD) competed in Friday Night's 1500m prelims, Donovan Lewin (Cape Charles, VA) in Saturday's 10k, and Daniel Richard (Manassas, VA) in Sunday's 3,000m Steeplechase. For all three, the meet was more than a month beyond the end of the collegiate season - and a month in to their preparations for their sophomore Cross Country season. The exception was Martin who was happy to just be running again after suffering a broken arm and sprained ankle in late May. While their times were not near their qualifying marks, all three gained valuable Nationals experience and exposure to build on for the rest of their CNU careers.

Also announced in June, the women's team was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the fourth time in the last five years thanks to a team cumulative GPA of 3.15. The 2011-12 Captains put up many other remarkable numbers:
