For the fifth year in a row, the CNU Women's Cross Country team earned All-Academic Team accolades from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association. The team posted a 3.28 cumulative GPA while placing 5th at the South/Southeast Region Championships.

Three of the women also earned spots on the individual All-Academic Team by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and finishing with All-Region honors at the South/Southeast Cross Country Championships. Jade Zaharoff (Vienna, VA) and Erin Rolaf (Woodbridge, VA) each made the list for the second time and Karen Bumiller (Burke, VA) earned the recognition for the first time in her career.

It was a busy news week for the Captains as CNU and Division III Hall of Famer Sheila Trice was featured in an article on NCAA.com:

The CNU Athletics Department also made big news with the announcement of our withdrawal from the USA South Conference. CNU is applying for membership in the Capital Athletic Conference which, unlike the USA South, sponsors both Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field. How that would affect our long-time association with the independent Mason-Dixon Conference is yet to be determined. More news on this move will be coming throughout the spring.

The official joint release from the USA South Conference and CNU is here:
