December 7, 2013 -- Holiday Open

Post date: Jan 18, 2014 6:14:36 AM

The 2013-14 Track & Field seasons started, as usual for the Captains, at home. With much anticipation for the year's opportunities, the chance to finally put some marks on the board was very welcome. 11 team members produced 14 Personal Records on the day and four claimed new positions on the CNU All-Time Lists: Jessica McClelland (Stafford, VA) - #3 in the Mile; Kendrick McMinn (Virginia Beach, VA) - #5 in the Weight Throw; Lydia Cromwell (Round Hill, VA) - #9 in the 5k; and Sam Martin (Rockville, MD) - #10 in the Mile.

The team returned to campus a few days before classes resumed for the spring semester to reaffirm and enhance the team culture. Paired with a heavy training cycle, the team made ready for the re-start of the season and enters the weekend of January 18th even more excited for the opportunities available.

Most of the team is headed to the Prince George County Sport and Learning Complex for Maryland's Terrapin Invitational. Part of the squad will represent the Captains at the famed Armory Track in New York City for the Ramapo College Indoor Select. The latter meet is set up as a showcase for some of the top teams and athletes in Division III and Division II - and the CNU Men arrive with a pre-season #15 Ranking.

Live Results are available for the Terrapin Invitational at http://www.mdtimingllc.com/realtime/

Information, results, and video from the Ramapo Indoor Select will be on the Armory Track site:
